About Us
A Few Words
Angelina Taylor
Angelina Taylor is a dedicated advocate, survivor, and seasoned law enforcement professional with over 20 years of experience. As the Founder and Executive Director of Helping Us Stay Safe (H.U.S.S.), she has committed her life to supporting survivors of sexual abuse through education, advocacy, and healing-centered community programs.
Driven by her own lived experience, Angelina understands the critical need for awareness, prevention, and survivor-centered support. She believes that silence allows abuse to persist — and she is committed to breaking that cycle. Through Helping Us Stay Safe, she empowers survivors to find their voices, builds strong community partnerships, and works to create lasting, meaningful change.
Angelina’s professional background in law enforcement, combined with her advocacy training, allows her to approach this work with both compassion and expertise. She has completed multiple certifications through the Michigan Victim Advocacy Network (MiVAN), including:
- Creating a Shared Understanding of Sexual Violence
- Being an Advocate
- Children and Trauma
- Trauma Across the Lifespan
- Building Confidence in Your Advocacy
These trainings strengthen her ability to support survivors through a trauma-informed, victim-centered lens across all stages of life.
In recognition of her leadership and impact, Angelina and Helping Us Stay Safe were honored with both a Proclamation and Resolution from the Sterling Heights City Council, officially recognizing Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Angelina’s mission is clear:
We will no longer be a silent awareness — we will be a movement of action, advocacy, and healing.
